Nicki Minaj 'Super-Nervous' Giving Lil Wayne Lap Dance

Pink Friday star surprised by her boss at I Am Still Music Tour stop.

A funny thing happened to Nicki Minaj on Sunday during the I Am Still Music Tour when she headed to give a lucky fan a lap dance: Her boss, Lil Wayne, ran from backstage at Long Island, New York's Nassau Coliseum and plopped down in the seat.

The Pink Friday star's showstopping move suddenly turned into a must-see moment.

"Well, I have to say, I been giving lap dances [during the tour], but I didn't know Wayne was gonna jump out and pop out the back," Nicki told MTV News. "I literally was up there trying to get a boy, then I turn around and I see this cute little dread in the chair with his legs dangling off. And I was like, 'What?' I was super nervous."

Wayne hammed it up and pulled his best Gene Simmons impersonation with his tongue darting out of his diamond-encrusted mouth as his protégé sauntered over in a pink and white catsuit. After a few quick pelvic thrusts in front of Weezy, she smiled, then returned to her dancers to resume their choreography.

The affair was one of the evening's highlights, but ultimately, it proved to be more nightclub than gentleman's club. "It's just the essence of a lap dance," Nicki said of her routine. "Now, the down and dirty? Uh uh, not yet."

During Wayne's tour opener in Rhode Island, a man raced to the stage to get up close and personal with Minaj, only to be removed by security.

'American Idol' Report Card: Haley Reinhart Comes Out Of Nowhere!

Elton John does wonders for Haley and Pia, but James and Stefano may have ruined their GPAs.
By Eric Ditzian

Haley Reinhart performs on Wednesday's "American Idol"
Photo: Michael Becker/ Fox

What a schizophrenic "American Idol" school year it has been, and our report cards have been correspondingly all over the place. One week Casey Abrams is up, a few later, he's collapsing into Ryan Seacrest's tender embrace after narrowly avoiding a trip home. Jacob Lusk and Stefano Langone have each taken their place at the head of the class, only to tumble to the low end of the grading curve.

What to make of all this GPA upheaval? Well, "Idol" is a damn hard class. Consistency from performance to performance is just as important as excellence on any given evening. And excellence we most certainly had on Wednesday, as the contestants took on Elton John's oeuvre. So too, of course, did we have singers who either didn't study hard enough or who just couldn't quite grasp the night's curriculum. Too bad. Our "Idol" report card suffers no fools. Let's get to it!

Excellent
Pia Toscano: As we explained in our preview, there was no way Pia was going to go with anything uptempo, despite everyone's pleas over the weeks. Hey, if Scotty McCreery doesn't have to ditch his country twang, should she be compelled to give up residency in Balladsville? That's a matter for debate, but during her take on "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me," it was hard to complain about anything. What a voice. Seriously, what a voice!

Haley Reinhart: Let's put aside her rather amusing pre-performance reference to "hard-core bangage" and concentrate on what she accomplished during her time onstage. She killed it! As surprised as we were, she freaking killed it! She finally, fully embraced those wonderful bluesy tones and growled her way toward glory during "Bennie and the Jets." Our only fear is that it's too late for Haley to turn the tide and stick around for more than a few weeks.

Good
Scotty McCreery: We're not going to say we get it, but perhaps we're starting to enjoy it. To wit, we've ditched any notion Scotty has a desire to even shout in the direction of a country-free genre. Nor were we surprised to hear his song selection process involved nothing more than finding an Elton tune with "country" in the title. Thusly prepared, we were able to sit back and enjoy the country comfort he was selling. His fluency in the genre, at such a young age, is truly impressive. Whether or not he wins "Idol," Scotty is going to sell millions of records.

Paul McDonald: Paul learned his lesson well last week: Play the guitar, don't dance. Hooray! Sure, his "Rocket Man" started off a little slurry, and the guy has a tendency to come off creepy when he's trying to go smoldery, but we never tire of the tone of his voice. That being said, his voice simply didn't have the oomph to hit those notes that bring out goose bumps.

Lauren Alaina: We've been saying for a while Lauren is at her best when she's not racing through fast-paced tunes, attempting to keep up while jigging and jagging across the stage. In this sense, "Candle in the Wind" was a smart choice, and the arrangement gave the tune some country flavoring that washed away any residual, Princess Di-induced cheesiness. The slowed-down performance gave Lauren a chance to build, getting better as she went and finally finishing on a strong note.

Casey Abrams: Goodbye, bushy beard. Hello, reborn Casey. If there were one singer to nail the emotional aspects of Elton's music, it was Casey. Restrained, tender, satisfying. Coming off the judges' save, he followed Tom Hanks' advice in "Saving Private Ryan": "Earn this!" Earn it he did. Now keep it up, kid!

Satisfactory
Naima Adedapo: Her faux-Jamaican accent was the least of her problems. Jimmy Iovine gave the game away when he wondered if Naima could stay in tune: No, no she couldn't. The accent was a bold choice — bolder even than slapping some reggae swag on "I'm Still Standing." But while we felt the song sounded fine with its new arrangement, her accent smacked of gimmickry, a ploy to distract us. We don't think it'll work.

Thia Megia: The 16-year-old avoids a lower grade, if only because the judges have been deeply unfair to her for a few weeks in a row. Other bottom-of-the-barrel singers come in for wild praise no matter how dreadfully they perform. The judges, meanwhile, have absolutely no use for Thia; their condescension is painful to hear and unfair to air. OK, so her take on "Daniel" was pitchy as hell, with phrasing messier than a daycare playroom after snack time, and she couldn't swoop down to hit those low notes if her life depended on it. OK, so she's probably going home on Thursday. But if the judges truly don't like what she does, what the heck is she doing here in the first place?

Jacob Lusk: There's a difference between singing with emotion and singing whilst on the verge of tears — a difference Jacob doesn't seem to grasp. He's uncomfortable to watch, and not nearly pleasant enough to hear. We wanted to step slowly away from the television during his rendition of "Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word." All that progress from last week, tossed out the window.

Unsatisfactory
Stefano Langone: The first thing Stefano had to contend with was a brutal intro package in which Jimmy all but announced the kid was going to bomb. The second thing he had to contend with was "Tiny Dancer"; the diminutive singer just didn't have the vocal power the tune demanded, or at least deserved. His phrasings were muddled, but at least his eyes were (mostly) open. Not that it matters much. Stefano's in trouble.

James Durbin: Not even a five-alarm fire can distract us from the fact that James' performance was fun and energetic, but useless as an example of his musical talents. He gets a freaking flaming piano? Someone's playing favorites with the contestants. Also, that reference to a Pepsi moment? Yikes! Thought shalt not speak ill of the deceased, especially not the King of Pop.

'Dancing With The Stars' Results: Mike Catherwood Is The First To Go

The 'Love Line' co-host says he made a 'lifelong friend' in partner Lacey Schwimmer.
By Kelley L. Carter

For about a week now, much of the talk about "Dancing With the Stars" has focused on whether Chris Brown would (or should) perform on Tuesday night's elimination episode.

Fortunately for fans of dance, Brown's pre-taped performance of "Yeah 3x" and a medley of "Forever" and "Beautiful" was relatively uneventful, so the R&B singer didn't eclipse the show's true focus: who would be the first person booted from the 12th season of the popular ABC show.

It seemed to be not too much of a surprise when "Love Line" co-host Mike Catherwood's name was called. The low-scoring dancer — who was partnered with Lacey Schwimmer — had improved from last week by four points, but it clearly wasn't enough to spare him for another week.

Top-scoring celebrities Ralph Macchio, Kirstie Alley, Chris Jericho, Hines Ward and Romeo were among the judges' favorite dancers and easily were saved for next week.

Last-place dancer Catherwood was in the bottom three with boxing legend Sugar Ray Leonard and talk-show hostess Wendy Williams. When the radio personality was told by host Tom Bergeron that he would be leaving, he talked up how valuable his short time on the show had been.

"It's been nothing but a pleasurable experience," he said, thanking fans of his radio show and his "Dancing With the Stars" peers. "It sucks to be sent home first, but I've made a lot of good friends. America obviously knows that Lacey Schwimmer is a beautiful person on the outside, but everybody needs to know she's equally, if not more, beautiful on the inside. I've made a lifelong friend."

On the same day that Britney Spears shares with the world her latest album, Femme Fatale, Spears' ex, Kevin Federline, has a special announcement of his own: He and girlfriend Victoria Prince are expecting a child.

Rumblings of a possible pregnancy began to bubble up when a photo of Prince sporting what looked like a baby bump hit gossip blogs on Monday. On Tuesday (March 29), sources confirmed the news to E!.

The couple is reportedly "totally happy" about the pregnancy and Prince is five months along. Federline and Prince began dating in late 2008, two years after Spears and Federline split.

Sources told E! that Spears is "focused on her work right now" when asked how she's taking the news. Spears is currently dating talent agent Jason Trawick.

A rep for Federline couldn't confirm or deny the reports as of press time.

This will be Federline's fifth child. He has two children with his ex Shar Jackson — daughter Kori Madison and son Kaleb Michael Jackson — and two sons with Spears, Jayden and Sean.

In the summer of 2009, Federline and Prince were rumored to be shooting a reality show together. The show was reportedly intended to follow Federline's life as a dad to his four kids but never came to fruition.

Facebook Pulls Back The Hack-A-Thon Curtain For MTV's 'Diary'

'Diary of Facebook' premieres Wednesday at 11 p.m. ET/PT on MTV.
By Eric Ditzian

Facebook creator and CEO Mark Zuckerberg
Photo: MTV News & Docs

Every so often, Facebook shuts down — not the social-networking site itself, of course, but the company's headquarters in Palo Alto, California. And the temporary pause isn't because anything is wrong; it's because founder Mark Zuckerberg wants things to continue to go right.

Welcome to Facebook's famous "hack-a-thon," an event when business as usual ceases and techies are given carte blanche to code like crazy and create innovative additions for the site. This Wednesday, at 11 p.m. ET/PT, MTV will bring you inside it all during "Diary of Facebook."

"Hack-a-thons are this awesome part of our culture," Zuckerberg says on "Diary." "Every month or two, everyone stays up all night just experimenting with things and building things quickly. And the only rule is that you're not allowed to work on the same thing that your day job is."

That directive is how an employee named Pedram, who usually toils as a technical engineer, finds himself staying up in the wee hours to create a potentially groundbreaking application for the site. He's not the only one. And even those who can't code join in the action — cooking, juggling, drawing and more as they stay energized during the event.

All that and more will be revealed during "Diary of Facebook," which follows not only Pedram, but other employees who live and breathe social networking. Viewers will also meet Erin, a consumer-marketing employee intimately involved in Stories.Facebook.com, an effort to draw attention to users' life-changing social-networking stories. You think you know Facebook, but until you check out "Diary," you have no idea.

Tune in to "Diary of Facebook," airing Wednesday, March 30, at 11 p.m. ET/PT.

Nicki Minaj's alter ego Martha is pretty protective. And also pretty flirty.

When the Pink Friday star was asked about the talks between her and Simon Cowell regarding "X Factor," Nicki relented as Martha took over and revealed her love for the former "American Idol" judge.

"I can't talk about that, but I love Simon very dearly," the Lil Wayne protégé answered in a British accent. "He's such an amazing man. I had the pleasure of meeting him and my life will never be the same, darling. I told him that. I was absolutely in love with him prior to meeting him. And now that I've met him, it's like I dream about him every night."

Cowell, for his part, seemed equally smitten with the hip-hop star. In an interview with XXL, the music mogul raved about the Young Money MC. He wouldn't confirm whether he talked to the rapper about being a judge on the show, but he said they spoke about various business opportunities.

"We spoke to Nicki actually about a lot of projects," he said. "It wasn't specifically about this, but we were just very interested to meet her. I'm a big fan of hers. So I don't know if it's gonna be this show or something in the future, but it was definitely somebody I wanted to meet."

"I know the show is gonna be dope 'cause Simon is dope," Nicki said, back in her own voice. "And I wish them luck."

'Black Swan' Director Defends Natalie Portman's Dancing

Darren Aronofsky responds to comments by Portman's body double that only 5 percent of the dancing in the film was actually performed by Portman.
By Terri Schwartz

Photo: Niko Tavernise

Since "Black Swan" hit theaters in December, the film required a certain suspension of disbelief as to whether leading lady Natalie Portman was actually performing the pirouettes, bourrées and pliés the scenes in the movie required of her. But the question about how much she actually danced has refused to go away, and it culminated on March 25.

Portman's ballet body double, Sarah Lane, told Entertainment Weekly that only 5 percent of the dancing shown in the movie was actually done by Portman. It was a response to Portman's fiancé Benjamin Millepied, a dancer himself, telling the Los Angeles Times that "85 percent of that movie is Natalie," which Lane said was grossly exaggerated and thus "demeaning to the profession and not just to me."

But now the one man who truly knows just how much of the film actually was Portman has come forward. Entertainment Weekly received a statement from "Black Swan" director Darren Aronofsky in which he clarified once and for all that the majority of the ballet performed in the flick is, in fact, danced by Portman.

"Here is the reality. I had my editor count shots. There are 139 dance shots in the film. 111 are Natalie Portman untouched. 28 are her dance double Sarah Lane. If you do the math, that's 80 percent Natalie Portman," he said.

Portman's costar, Mila Kunis, also came forward and defended the Oscar-winning actress on Monday to Entertainment Weekly.

"Natalie danced her ass off," Kunis said. "She'll tell you [that], no, she was not on pointe when she did a fouetté [turn]. No one's going to deny that. But she did do every ounce of every one of her dances. [Lane] wasn't used for everything. It was more like a safety net. If Nat wasn't able to do something, you'd have a safety net. The same thing that I had — I had a double as a safety net. We all did. No one ever denied it."

Aronofsky went on to explain that, when looking at the duration of each dance sequence and not just at the number of shots, Portman actually performed about 90 percent of the dance in the movie. He said that there were two complicated longer dance sequences where he and the production crew used Lane's performance and then replaced her face with Portman's, but that he wanted to defend just how much effort his leading lady did put into her role.

"If you look at the final shot of the opening prologue, which lasts 85 seconds and was danced completely by Natalie, she exits the scene on pointe. That is completely her without any digital magic," Aronofsky said. "I am responding to this to put this to rest and to defend my actor. Natalie sweated long and hard to deliver a great physical and emotional performance. And I don't want anyone to think that's not her they are watching. It is."

When Portman spoke to MTV News in November about her training for the movie, she admitted that it was "really extreme."

"I definitely felt both physical and mental aftershocks from the experience, because it was the first thing I've ever done that was this physically demanding on top of an emotionally demanding part," she said.

Check out everything we've got on "Black Swan."

Britney Spears Is A True 'Superstar,' San Francisco Drag Queens Say

'I had a great time up there,' Donna Sachet tells MTV News of opening for Brit at 'Good Morning America' show.

Britney Spears had a busy weekend. She performed for her fans in San Francisco, just days after she graced the stage in Las Vegas at the Palms, where MTV was filming her for an upcoming special.

At her San Francisco show, which was being taped for "Good Morning America," Spears had five drag queens in over-the-top costumes warm up the crowd with their sassy back-and-forth. After the performance, MTV News caught up with two of the queens, who told us it was a lot of fun opening for the femme fatale.

"As a huge Britney fan, it was amazing," Pollo Del Mar told us. "I was excited just to have Britney Spears here in San Francisco, but to participate and be a part of it was amazing."

"It was a treat," Donna Sachet added. "I had a great time up there. Five drag queens, all different types of drag, we loved it. We were complimented that Britney wanted to start with something like that."

During her set, Spears performed three tracks from Femme Fatale, out Tuesday, and Pollo gushed that the pop star did a great job.

"I thought it was amazing," Pollo said. "It shows why she's a superstar and certainly I think that the crowd response showed that she's beloved. ... The reason I love Britney Spears is throughout her career, she's shown she's human, she's fallible ... I think that makes her someone people can rally behind and love."

Spears performance featured three eye-catching costumes, complete with sequins, latex and lights. "We do get ideas from her costuming and from her dancers and her energy," Donna admitted.

Fans were equally dazzled by Spears' set. "It was amazing," a fan named Sarah told us after the show wrapped. "It was so hot! We live here in the city, and she was sexier than ever and I'd go lesbian for her. She really blew it up."

Mindless Behavior Enlist Ciara, Tyga, Lil Twist For 'My Girl' Remix Video

'These kids are stars to me,' Ciara tells MTV News on the clip's set.

Mindless Behavior might be made up of four boys in their early teens, but that hasn't stopped them from grabbing the attention of established stars like Ciara, Lil Twist and Tyga, who are all featured on the remix of their hit debut single "My Girl."

The remix video debuted on BET's "106 and Park" on Monday (March 28), and MTV was on the set with the young stars a few weeks ago, just days before they kicked off their tour as Janet Jackson's opening act.

" 'My Girl' needs to just branch out," said Ray Ray, surrounded by his bandmates. " 'My Girl' is the best record ever!"

As a follow-up to their video for the original version of the song, the 'My Girl' remix video delivers plenty of choreographed dancing, references to the art and etiquette of text messaging, and teenage girls dancing around the miniature heartthrobs.

In the video, Ciara dances alongside Mindless Behavior in an industrial-like setting. Lil Twist and Tyga rap in a room full of excited fans while the boys dance along.

"A year ago, we were fans of these artists," Princeton noted. "And now we're working with them. Just to know that is great."

Ciara jumped at the opportunity to work alongside the boys. "These kids are stars to me, and they asked me to be part of the remix," she said. "I was like, 'I'm gonna be a part of this!' "

Once a teen prodigy herself, Ciara already shared something in common with Mindless Behavior. "I remember when I was young. It's really just about being a part of something that's young and fresh and something that I believe in. In this case, they're young and I want to make sure I fit in that way. I give them the young 'CiCi' in me, I guess you could say."

Nate Dogg Bade Farewell By Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, Warren G

'I'm so honored, so happy that you gave me the opportunity, God, to know Nate Dogg,' Snoop eulogized at funeral.

LONG BEACH, California — On a dark and damp Saturday morning (March 26), thousands of family, friends and fans turned out for one last show from their hero, rap legend Nate Dogg, who was laid to rest in his hometown of Long Beach.

Inside the Long Beach Cruise Terminal, lights shined down on the wooden coffin adorned with red and white flowers. Two jumbo screens on opposite sides of his casket flashed six different photos of the singer from a childhood boy, when he was known to family as "Buddy," to the platinum singer known to the world as Nate Dogg.

West Coast rap artists including Dr. Dre, Game, DJ Quik, Mack-10 and WC, DJ Pooh, Battlecat and others were on hand to pay their respects to the singer with platinum vocal chords.

"1986, Poly High School, that's where we connected for the first time," an emotionally distraught Snoop reflected on his friend. "We didn't know each other, but the music connected us. We built a brotherhood, a friendship."

Snoop first met Nate along with his best friend Warren G at the school where they would go on to form the rap trio 213. Warren G spoke briefly, reminding mourners in attendance what a great man the music world has lost.

"It hurts me so much to see this," Warren G said somberly while looking down at the casket. "We been through a whole lot and that was my dog. He stayed down with me from the bottom to the top. I didn't ever think I would have to sit at a funeral for one of my dogs. All I can say is that was my friend, me him and Snoop was 213 from the balls to the walls. The music industry lost an incredible artist."

Several of Nate's closest friends, relatives and colleagues including Xzibit, Daz and Kurupt, Butch Cassidy, Los Angeles radio station personality Big Boy from Power 106, and producer FredWreck all shared memorable stories of their friend, who they said made an important impact on their lives. Xzibit recalled a time during the Up in Smoke Tour when Nate was arrested, but hours later somehow magically appeared at the show's next date. A teary-eyed Kurupt said Nate was the father figure who raised him.

Manager Rod McGrew acted as Nate's manager throughout his professional music career and was with him up until his last days.

"He fought a hard fight," McGrew said. He also thanked Dr. Dre and Eminem, in addition to Snoop, Warren G and Xzibit, for assisting the family in getting through the past several days. "The last three years were unbelievable. He didn't give up. He just had a talk with God and gave up. Two hours before that he was fine."

McGrew said that with Nate's passing, the singer's three wishes will now be granted.

"He wanted to go to heaven and hang with his boys," McGrew said. "He loved Tupac. He recorded with him. He wanted to hang with Biggie. But the most important thing is that he can walk around heaven with his favorite artist of all time, Michael Jackson."

With his deep, melodic voice and smooth soul rumble, Dogg was one of the key elements in the rise of the West Coast G-Funk sound pioneered by Death Row Records in the early 1990s. Along with Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg and Warren G, Nate was a critical participant in a number of major left-coast gangsta hits, including G's "Regulate" and Dre's iconic solo debut, 1992's The Chronic.

The hip-hop singer passed away earlier this month after suffering multiple health setbacks in the past several years stemming from separate strokes.

The choir that sang during Nate's home-going was handpicked by the singer himself. One of its members, Jacob Lusk, is currently a contestant on "American Idol."

"He was a loving caring individual," said Snoop. "If you listen to his music, he took church melodies and flipped it with hip-hop. I'm so honored, so happy that you gave me the opportunity, God, to know Nate Dogg. I want to stand here and cry, but I have to have the strength for you Nate Dogg. It's 213, DPG for life."

Ne-Yo 'Spreads Love Through Music' in Japan

'We're definitely out here making a difference, more than just singing and dancing,' singer says of Japan shows.

Ne-Yo
Photo: Annette Brown/ Getty Images

R&B singer Ne-Yo is doing his part to help victims of the earthquake and tsunami that hit northern Japan on March 11. Despite other artists like Ke$ha postponing their dates in the country, the singer/songwriter — minus some backup dancers — decided to continue his performances and provided charitable aid in the process.

While appearing on MTV's "RapFix Live" via Skype, the Grammy Award-winning singer said that he didn't even consider canceling his tour dates in Japan. "After we heard about what went down, a lot of people was like, 'I know you're not going out there now with everything going on,' " Ne-Yo said. "But our response to that was, 'Of course we still going.' They need the show more than ever. So that's why we're here."

Ne-Yo said that he had not seen any of the devastation firsthand since the performances in Nagoya and Yokohama were not near the epicenter of the earthquake and coast. However, he has been inspired by how the people of Japan, and specifically those at the shows, have dealt with the tragedy.

"It wouldn't be possible to do a show from where everything really went down," he said. "The main thing that we been seeing out here is people coming together, people making donations, helping out their fellow man. As far as the crowds coming to the shows, it's unreal. If you didn't know that anything was wrong, you would never know that anything was wrong. It's just people coming to enjoy a concert, which to me kind of speaks to the spirit of the Japanese people. They're about keeping it going and keeping their spirits high and their morale high, and I dig that."

The "Champagne Life" singer also detailed what he and his Compound Entertainment company have been doing to personally help with relief efforts. "Since we been out here, we did these wristbands," Ne-Yo said, holding the wristband up to the camera. "The wristband says 'Our prayers are with Japan.' We've been selling these at every show. Plus, we did T-shirts that say 'Spread [With] Through Music,' as well as posters. We've raised somewhere close to $100,000 just in merchandise. All of the proceeds of this stuff goes straight to the victims of the quake and tsunami. Not to mention, a percentage of the proceeds of the shows themselves goes to the victims of the quake and tsunami. We're definitely out here making a difference, more than just singing and dancing."

Ne-Yo said his as-yet-untitled forthcoming album, the follow up to 2010's Libra Scale, will be in stores sometime in September.

Bret Michaels Sues Tonys Over 2009 Onstage Injury

Lawsuit cites the incident as cause of Poison frontman's near-fatal brain hemorrhage last year.
By James Dinh

Bret Michaels
Photo: Brian Ach/WireImage

Bret Michaels is suing Tony Award Productions and CBS for his stage mishap at the 2009 Tony Awards, where the rock singer slammed his head against a stage prop that descended from the ceiling.

TMZ reports that the lawsuit, which was filed Friday (March 25), has Michaels alleging that he was not properly instructed on how to exit the stage following his "Nothin' But a Good Time" performance alongside his Poison bandmates and the cast of the "Rock of Ages" musical. He claims he had to be hospitalized for a broken nose and a cut lip.

However, things took a turn for the worse six months later when the rock star nearly died from a subarachnoid brain hemorrhage. And in the lawsuit, Michaels, who is suing for unspecified damages, claims that the onstage injury is in direct relation with his near-fatal hospitalization.

"One of the most common causes of this type of hemorrhage is head trauma — exactly like the one Michaels suffered at the hands of the Tony Awards," the lawsuit claims. "Through his sheer will to live, to see his children grow up, [he] was able to survive this trauma."

Bret says in the suit that producers have "failed and refused" to help aid the situation and claimed that he "missed his mark" during the performance.

Reps for Michaels have previously alleged the awards show's negligence in the incident. In a statement to MTV News days after the mishap, the singer's reps cited a "lack of communication" between their client and "the producers, directors, stage managers and crew" of the awards show.

Britney Spears proved to be a Femme Fatale when she hit the stage Friday night in Las Vegas. The pop superstar donned multiple costumes during her high-octane three-song set, and her fans loved every moment of it.

The Femme Fatale hit the stage following a killer set from "Jersey Shore" star DJ Pauly D on Friday night (March 25). Spears sported a stunning sequined bodysuit and performed her first song of the night, lead single "Hold It Against Me." Flanked by sexy male dancers, she sashayed her way through the song, which included sexy hair-tossing and a wind machine. She performed snippets of past hits, "3," "Slave 4 U" and "Gimme More," as well as her latest club banger, "Till the World Ends." And by all accounts, fans were electrified.

Check out hot photos from Britney's Las Vegas show.

Emerie told MTV News moments after the show: "I love Britney! Everything was perfect. My favorite part was when she performed the song 'Till the World Ends.' Anything with Britney is amazing."

Jewelry designer Heather Bettes added, "It was fantastic. Britney Spears, she looks stellar. She killed it. She really brought it The beading is amazing on her costumes. She looked great. She brought it."

While fans described Spears' big show as "awesome," "sexy" and "the best thing ever," two die-hards had a personal connection to the show.

"I loved it!" Danielle said of Brit's performance at Rain nightclub in the Palms Casino and Resort. In fact, she loved it so much because her pal Mark is one of Brit's dancers. While Mark was one of her favorite parts, she said Britney really shined.

"The very end of the last song [was awesome]," she explained about pop's reigning queen. "She looked sexy. She's hot."

Daniel, who is not only Danielle's friend but also Mark's boyfriend, was very excited to see his beau onstage with the star. "He looked so sexy," he proclaimed, adding that Brit had told the dancers that this show was all about her excited fans. "She wants to please all of her fans. She knocked it out of the box."

Those good vibes were felt by Britney as well, who tweeted after the show, "OMFG it feels good to be on stage again!!"

For fans who may have missed it, they can check out Spears' performance in an MTV special airing next week, with a tease dropping Tuesday, the same day as the release of Femme Fatale.

David Guetta Teases Nicki Minaj's 'New Persona' On 'Where Dem Girls At?'

Flo Rida is also featured on the single, which Guetta told MTV News about at Miami Music Week.
By Akshay Bhansali

Photo: MTV News

MIAMI — America dances to a clubbier tune nowadays, due in large part to the diligence of four kings of current U.S. pop/urban radio: Dr. Luke, Max Martin, RedOne and David Guetta.

And MTV News has a news flash about one of those kings: Grammy-winning French producer David Guetta has almost completed a new album and has a new single hitting the airwaves most likely in the beginning of May. The yet-untitled follow-up to One Love is a disc made with both pop radio and big arenas in mind.

Akon and will.i.am are featured on the upcoming project, as are a few new partners in crime. Currently, Guetta has a dilemma, MTV News learned when we caught up with him Friday (March 25) as the DJ/producer performed during Miami Music Week. The Frenchman is going back and forth between two big bangers for a first single, a high-class problem most in the music world would welcome.

"I have two really, really big ones," Guetta told MTVN News. "One is with Taio Cruz and Ludacris [a song called 'Little Bad Girl' that has already leaked] and the other ['Where Dem Girls At?'] is with Flo Rida and Nicki Minaj. They are both huge records, but one sounds more European. The other one sounds a bit more U.S."

Guetta joked, "So people are fighting inside the record company: It's the U.S. against Europe. So we are gonna see who has more muscle!"

Minaj's millions of Barbz around the world would surely cast their vote for "Where Dem Girls At?" and Guetta is particularly pleased that he could bring her onboard for the song.

"We just had a big success with 'Club Can't Handle Me' together with Flo Rida, and he gave me back the favor by featuring on my album," Guetta said. "That record is absolutely huge. Like it was a monster already. And then, I wanted to add a little twist, because we just had a record together, and I'm a huge Nicki Minaj fan.

"And we met. I was gonna play records, but she said, 'You know, you should know that I wanna do a solo record. I don't want to be with somebody else,' " Guetta continued. "So I said, 'OK, no problem. Can I just play you that record?' And that record is so big that it's undeniable. And she was like, 'OK, I'll do that last one.' And it's a major record!"

But which Nicki Minaj will appear on "Where Dem Girls At?" Will it be Roman, Martha or one of her other now-famous personas? According to Guetta, maybe someone new.

"I think she kind of has a new persona for that record," Guetta shared. " She's more London now."

Which single do you think David Guetta should roll with first? Let us know in the comments!
